So as I said in my journal, I bought one of Massive Black's training videos (Jason Chan's 'Heroes' video) and decided to take a crack at the techniques. I thought I'd post a sort of '
rocess' type image, just showing how I worked this out.
I've been working on the 'random character' that I did a couple of days ago, and decided this is pretty much the final 'look' for him. He's kind of a grizzled veteran who has a downer on the current generation, doesn't like to wait, and is possibly untrustworthy. I wanted to make him look like he was in a bit of a mood, looking down at people as he passes them by.
The swat style body armour thing is over the top of a t-shirt and sleeveless hoody, though I may change the hoody to something that suits his character a little better.
Overall time, about an hour or so, all in photoshop, on an a5 document. I might blow this up to a4 and trace it off, do a traditional version too, just to see how they match up...

Hes taken on a personality now, with that look on his face and his features. But i agree on the designs with you, i think you should whack up a few designs because this ones a little... young? for him maybe. I'm not quite sure, but something urks me about it. Although the hairstyle works, maybe a few designs with a different hair style too
None the less hes looking good.
