Description
So this is the last request I got from my journal post about FREE ART! it's for of his OC Seawing.
Seawing's description is basically a bright blue, action figure size bird man with large wings, one of which is covered in feathers, the other resembles that of a demon or a bat - loosely quoting the reference texts his head is that of a read tailed hawk. (I think I did okay with the head, but I'm not a twitcher, so don't rail on me for innacuracies )
I had a little bit of difficulty getting into this one, for a couple of reasons, first thing, I've only drawn a 'birdman' type character once before, and it was a head and shoulders shot, nothing more, and it was straight on, which made it a little easier. The other reason, was that I just couldn't get the right pose.
I was trying to do a full body pose with the character with his wings spread out in a real heroic kinda pose, but I just couldn;t get it to work, it didn't read right, no matter how many different ways I tried.
So I settled on doing a 'bust' shot of Seawing, this ended up making this alot of fun, even the thumbnail was pretty cool.
I started to render this in the same way as the last 2, with pro markers and tech pens, but I realised that wasn't going to be enough, there was more texture than the others, so I broke out a white pencil for some mid highlights, and a white gel pen for the full highlights, as well as a 2H pencil to get some more definition on some of the feathers and stuff on his body.
I then added a blue hue and a little extra highlighting in photoshop, but it's only slight, nothing was erased or tweaked too much, so I'm calling it a traditional piece
anyway, let me know what you think, and if you have any requests, don't hesitate to ask, I'm still open... for now
thanks for looking!

Wooow..Lucky bugger.
This piece used to be a signature he was using in one of the forums he's joining. But I never expected that this was actually made for him.
Well, overdue credit is overdue, so I just wanna go ahead and say that you did one spot on job in doing this.
(Sam's a friend of mine in case you're wondering.)
